That’s my KING! We should all be ever grateful for our KING OF KINGS and GOD’S AMAZING GRACE!! There is one other factor that God looked at in regard to the kings-Did they tear down the “high places” of idol worship? Honestly, even most of the good kings didn’t do what God required in this regard-yet God still calls them GOOD. This is what God is looking at when He looks at us just as it was when He looked at the kings. Are we doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord? Are we pleasing Him in everything we say and do? This is the plumb line. This is what God is looking at in you and me as well. “They did what was RIGHT in the eyes of God.”Įvery time we see that a king was considered a “good king,” you will see these words… “And they did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.” Or “In everything they did they pleased the Lord.” The one common denominator of a GOOD KING? Is it any wonder God removed His Hand of protection from Israel for a season?! Out of 19 kings of Israel, NOT ONE OF THEM was “good” or walked in the ways of the Lord. However, there were NO good kings from Israel. Have you noticed that all the GOOD KINGS were from Judah? There were 8 good kings out of 20 from Judah.
